Working to Protect Liberty

in the Cowboy State

CANDIDATES

HOUSE DISTRICT 53 (GILLETTE)

LARRY WILLIAMSON

My name is Larry Williamson, I'm running for HD53 as a candidate of the Constitution Party. I have never run or held any office but as a blue collar outsider I believe I will best represent the people of District 53.

It is very easy for me to relate as I am one of you. I was born and raised in Georgia, but Wyoming is my home. I first came to Wyoming in 2012 for work and really enjoyed the atmosphere, the people and wide open spaces the year I was originally here. Six years later, my wife and I moved to Gillette. Our son was born right here in Gillette in December of 2018.

My goal is to keep Wyoming the great state I desired so much to return to. Sadly, I see many weak links that could quickly change what we have here in Wyoming. I will go over my viewpoints below.

I decided to run for the safety of our children first and foremost. I ask myself, "Why was Critical Race Theory not banned?" and "Why are taxpayers funding gender studies?" I believe children should be able to enjoy the innocence of childhood, as many of us were able to. Unfortunately, a visit to our public library will be  a prelude to what is in store if action is not taken.

My position is that we cannot have children put down, looked at differently or in some cases simply told they are racist because we did not take action against CRT. When it comes to Gender Study funding, it is a complete waste of taxpayer money. The fact is, there are males and females only.

I also oppose bathroom use by the opposite sex regardless of how that person identifies. Recently, a female student was raped at school by a male identifying as "transgender" in a girls bathroom. This was in Virginia, but Wyoming students could be next, unfortunately, if action is not taken.

I further want the pedophilia in the libraries out, I want the pornography moved to the adult section. Wyoming Statute 6-4-302 must be amended to not give schools or libraries a free pass to expose children to these materials without penalty. Again, our children deserve to be kids without being subjected to all these completely unnecessary and frankly dangerous agendas.

2nd AMENDMENT RIGHTS

We must also address the 2nd Amendment rights. SAPA SF102 was passed, but it offers no protection. It is yet another catastrophe with federal funds, and as long as federal funds are used to infringe on your rights it implies it is perfectly okay.

There was a letter sent to Wyoming's U.S. Senators in opposition to expanded red flag gun laws, but only 21 legislators from Wyoming signed it. My opponent, Christopher Knapp, not only voted for SF102 but did not oppose expanded red flag gun laws based on his inaction. I will work to protect your 2nd Amendment rights, unlike those who back Washington's overreach.

Education must be addressed, as well, for the reasons I've mentioned earlier with CRT and gender-related issues. But there is a significant cost concern, as well. Wyoming taxpayers spend around $18,000 per student in public school, $6,000 per student in private schools, and about $600 for homeschool students.

While I need to research and communicate with others on this matter I believe we can implement a system that not only provides choice but reduces cost.

EDUCATION

TAXATION

No more new taxes or fees. No more increases on existing taxes or fees. The government can not manage money so we have the endless increases. I will vote NO to any attempt to create or increase the burden of the people. The government is bloated and must be cut down to its original purposes of crucial infrastructure, law enforcement

and fire protection, not involvement in private industry. I see this as a hard fight but I will start it by voting NO every time. If it is the desire of the people I will work with like minded legislatures to repeal the WY Constitutional amendment that gave representatives the power over taxes through legislation rather than the vote of the people.

Roe v. Wade was recently overturned by SCOTUS. It was a horrific ruling in 1973 that led to the genocide of over 60 million innocent souls. While I'm pleased it was overturned, the war continues. We have had violent protest and the lives of those in rural communities have threatened.

Pro-life centers have been vandalized. In Louisiana, it's trigger law is now being challenged in court. I will neither waiver nor submit to the violence the evil will use to alter policy. The pro-life view does not end with birth. I desire to see adoption simply for the benefit of the lives saved, not to feed attorneys or state agency fees.

ABORTION

COAL, OIL & GAS

GOVERNMENT INTRUSION

Coal, oil and gas are the life blood of our economy. I will always support the industry. There should never be subsidies to push inefficient green energy. The taxpayer should not pay for technology that is inefficient or its development, nor should taxpayers keep private industry afloat.

I'm in full opposition to lockdowns, mask mandates and forced vaccinations. Not too long ago, we were forced into limited gatherings, wearing masks and, unfortunately, some were threatened with job loss for not taking an experimental vaccine. That should have never happened in Wyoming. Our current leadership sacrificed us all for federal funds.

Drugs and suicide prevention require attention. Addicts are six times more likely to commit suicide. I believe it should be mandatory those who are convicted of running drug labs or distribution serve the maximum sentence permitted by law.

I've heard the arguments for legalization, similar to what is being attempted by Oregon measure 110. As I would expect, it has been a disaster - a 700% increase in overdoses, and 120% increase in deaths. While I believe we must help those who are addicted, we must also keep the sources of addiction out of our communities.

DRUGS & SUICIDE

ABOUT ME

Born in Georgia in 1979, I’m currently married with two adult children. I studied computer science in technical school, but I’m a blue collar worker in the highway construction field as a plant manager.

I was a lifelong Republican, but exited thanks to the party backing the coup against the President in 2021.

I also understand our blue collar workers. I personally work long hours and long weeks out in the elements. I know what hard work is. I turn wrenches, replace motors, splice conveyors, rebuild pumps, operate equipment, change bearings and know how to run a shovel.

It's time your hard work is appreciated, because it is your hard work that makes the economy turn. I will do everything possible to see that you keep more of the money you earn.

Ultimately, we must free Wyoming from federal funds, reduce the size of government, reduce taxes and fees, protect our children at all stages of life - from conception to adulthood - and educate, not indoctrinate, our children. As an individual. I might not have all the solution. But my promise to you is to work with true conservatives to represent you and your voice.
